About the Role
Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing the Work Health and Safety (WHS) portfolio throughout Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) and in various other services nearby, and acts as a consultancy services to the Executive, managers and staff, promoting and increasing awareness of WHS.
- The initiation, development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive WHS program, as well as providing data and analysis of the program’s effectiveness and implementing appropriate prevention strategies.
- A direct report, the Manual Handling Coordinator.

Ideal Candidate
- Tertiary qualifications in work health and safety (WHS) and/or significant experience working at a senior level in this specialist area.
- Expertise in analysing and investigating WHS issues, and accident prevention programs.
- Ability to work with self-motivation as a member of a multi-functional team and ability to work with a minimum of supervision, as well as demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.
