We are seeking the services of a Career Medical Officer to work as a member of the multidisciplinary team involved in the care of individuals with eating disorders.
The Career Medical Officer is an integral part of the multidisciplinary health care team, providing high quality medical services to patients / clients of the Western NSW Local Health District, in order to meet their health and wellbeing needs.

Our Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Services are a critical part of the care we deliver to our local communities. We are at the forefront in the delivery of rural and remote mental health, drug and alcohol services across a catchment area of 400,000 square kilometres with the regional centres of Dubbo, Orange and Bathurst as hubs to provide services both locally and to our more rural and remote towns.

What you'll be doing
The Career Medical Officer is an integral part of the multidisciplinary health care team, providing high quality medical services to patients/ clients of the WNSW Local Health District in order to meet their health and wellbeing needs. The position is an important liaison between Mental Health Drug & Alcohol teams and staff and general medical and primary care practitioners.
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent and current authority to practice as a Medical Officer with the Medical Board of Australia (MBA).
- Knowledge and clinical experience relevant to the treatment of care of individuals with an eating disorder.
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to document accurately, consult effectively with others, and develop collaborative partnerships with a range of stakeholders applicable to Australian medical practice.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring and upskilling staff working with individuals with an eating disorder.
- Demonstrated active participation in and commitment to quality assurance and improvement activities.
- Current Licence to drive in NSW.
