About the role:
Our successful candidate will provide non clinical support to complement the delivery of safe, effective and quality patient care. This includes: transporting of patients, couriering of items, and assembling of equipment set-ups.

The successful applicant will be supported by senior staff, all staff are supported by Security & Wardsperson Manager, on the job training and orientation will be provided. Where you'll be working: 
  • Maitland Hospital is part of the Lower Hunter Sector of Hunter New England Health. Maitland Hospital provides a range of comprehensive services with the role of the wardsperson supporting the delivery of these services. With one of the busiest emergency departments in the state.
  • Maitland Hospital has been built to provide patients with high quality care in a modern and comfortable environment and it embraces technology and innovation, allowing staff new, improved ways to work that will deliver better health outcomes. 
  • Set in an idyllic location in the Lower Hunter Valley within a picturesque riverine landscape and historic buildings. Lots of choice of affordable housing and excellent local public and private schools. Maitland is well connected by road, rail and air, is located less than two hours north of Sydney, only 15 minutes from Hunter Valley Wine Country and 30 minutes from Newcastle and its pristine world renowned coastline and beaches. 



About you:

  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Undertaking and flexibility to work a 24/7 roster.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Eligible to drive in NSW and willingness to travel to sites across HNELHD.

This is a Category A position. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. 

To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable local candidate is identified for the position; in this instance, you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
