About the role: 

 

  • We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Ward Clerk to provide an efficient and effective administrative and clerical service within John Hunter Hospital, in ICU / PICU
  • This is a front-line role, ideal for someone with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
  • As the first point of contact for patients, families, and visitors, you'll play an important role in supporting our healthcare team and ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment for all.
  • This role has various shifts offered - Working between the hours of 07:00am - 8:00pm


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a professional first point of contact for all enquiries—phone, email, and in person.
  • Deliver timely and accurate administrative support, including data entry and document management.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy in all aspects of patient and staff interactions.
  • Assist in the coordination of day-to-day clerical operations and workflows.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical staff to support patient care delivery.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in handling information and systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Proficient in the use of computer systems and adaptable to new technologies.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team setting.
  • Flexible, dependable, and able to respond to changing priorities.
