War Memorial Hospital (WMH) is a 3rd Schedule Aged Rehabilitation hospital, situated in Waverley, owned and operated by Uniting and part of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD). Services are comprised of 24-hour inpatient care, Monday to Friday outpatient departments, several specialist community teams inclusive of Transitional Aged Care, Aged Care Assessment Team, Geriatric Flying Squad, Young Onset Dementia, 6 day a week day centre program, 24-hour accommodation service for regional guests and the full range of hospital support services. The Hotel Services Manager at War Memorial Hospital works as part of a closely integrated hospital management and campus team. The position oversees delivery and operational management of food, environmental and security services across the campus of War Memorial Hospital. The position additional manages the onsite hospital kiosk and customer service delivery to kiosk customers. The Hotel Services Manager position engages directly in these operational deliverables as well as leading a team in ensuring a high standard of safe service delivery.
The manager requires the skills to oversee the delivery of high-quality nutritional services provision to patients, ensure a high and consistent standard of cleaning in line with infection control and NSW Health/Uniting cleaning policy and leadership of security and alarm processes across the campus.
Knowledge of food, hospital cleaning industry standards and/or security management principles is desirable, while knowledge of Work Health & Safety Principles is essential in ensuring a safe, efficient and quality service delivery.
The position represents the hotel services department on various hospital committees and programs including Work Health & Safety and Quality initiatives. The Hotel Services Manager liaises directly with War Memorial Hospital Executive Management in ensuring that the hospital food, environmental and security services are maintained to a safe, cost effective and proud standard. The Hotel Services Manager role is seen as a critical support function in the delivery of high-quality healthcare for our aged rehabilitation clients and their families. This role additionally has links into South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) and also Uniting for hotel related service and networks
This position is a full time permanent role.

Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated experience in operational management of Hotel Services +/- Security Services with appropriate qualification
- Knowledge of hospital food services, relevant industry standards and accreditation processes
- Knowledge of hospital cleaning processes and industry standard supervision
- Knowledge of hospital security management principles or willingness to learn
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team, to direct and follow direction using sound organisational and problem-solving skills

- Experience in effective cost centre management and resource allocation including 24hr rostering principles
- Knowledge of WHS Profiling, Food Safety Auditing and experience and/or knowledge of Healthcare Accreditation and Work Health Safety processes
All Category A NSW Health workers are required to have received an annual seasonal Influenza vaccination or have an approved medical contraindication certificate. COVID-19 vaccinations are strongly recommended for all NSW Health workers.
