Selection Criteria

  • Medical qualifications eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Paediatrics with Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Paediatrics and Child Health Division).
  • Completed forensic medicine training (or be enrolled and studying towards forensic medicine qualifications within 6 months of commencing in the role.
  • Appropriate knowledge and clinical experience to practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner in child abuse and neglect including child sexual assault.
  • Ability to work harmoniously and effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and with a wide range of stakeholders, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and ability to respond appropriately to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and patients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement methodologies and experience in initiating and implementing changes to improve clinical service delivery and outcomes, models of care, evidence based practice and practice development.
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to lead and provide clinical supervision including the ability to provide education, vision and research would be viewed favourably.
  • Demonstrated behaviours which align with the NSW Health CORE values.
