Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking an experienced Visiting Medical Officer in Colorectal Surgery to join our team at Concord Repatriation General Hospital.

 

We are looking for a Visiting Medical Officer in Colorectal Surgery. The primary purpose of the role is to provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Colorectal Surgery and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Colorectal Surgery Department and Hospital as required. 
    
This position will support clinical work, research and teaching within the Department of Colorectal Surgery at Concord Repatriation General Hospital. This will initially involve caring for patients currently on the Colorectal Unit waiting list, then further developing their surgical practice within the Hospital. The Visiting Medical Officer will be an experienced robotic surgeon, who is able to assume a leadership position in CRGH Colorectal Surgery robotic program.  
   
The successful applicant will mentor junior staff, increase theatre efficiency and utilisation to meet annual key performance indicators as mandated by the Ministry of Health and contribute to the work of the Concord Institute of Academic Surgery (CIAS). 
   
The Visiting Medical Officer will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.

Medical practitioner, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) with Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ) and recognised qualifications in Colorectal Surgery.
   
Position is currently available. In addition, applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within two months from date of application, may be considered.
   
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Public Hospitals Visiting Medical Officer Determination.
