Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking a dedicated Visiting Medical Officer in Breast Surgery to join our BreastScreen team!
The primary purpose of the role is to provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Breast Surgery in BreastScreen and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the BreastScreen Department and Hospital as required.
The Visiting Medical Officer in BreastScreen (Breast Surgery) will provide holistic, best practice consultative specialty services for women participating in SLHD BreastScreen NSW. They will clinically assess clients and perform imaging guided biopsy and other procedures and will discuss outcomes and results. They will participate in the correlation of assessment findings and in education, audit and quality improvement activities.
The Visiting Medical Officer will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.
The successful applicant will be a current registered Medical practitioner, registered or eligible for specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) with recognised qualifications in General Surgery and Full membership of BreastSurgANZ Society and/or other equivalent specialist recognition.
Position is currently available. In addition, applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within two months from date of application, may be considered.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Public Hospitals Visiting Medical Officer Determination.
