Lead the coordination of a high-performing vascular sonography service, ensuring timely diagnosis, seamless patient care, and clinical excellence. 


About the Role


This is an exciting opportunity for an accredited Vascular Sonographer to coordinate the day-to-day delivery of vascular sonography services at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. 

This includes managing examination workflows, prioritising urgent and inpatient referrals, liaising with vascular surgeons, medical officers, nursing staff, and administrative teams, and ensuring the timely delivery of diagnostic ultrasound services. This role involves balancing clinical demand with available resources, troubleshooting scheduling and operational issues, coordinating patient care requirements, and supporting efficient service delivery to maintain high standards of patient care and departmental performance. 
 
The Vascular Sonographer is responsible for providing a comprehensive quaternary level specialist vascular diagnostic ultrasound service. The sonographer will work within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the provision of accurate diagnostic ultrasound study results and appropriate recommendations for both initial and further vascular diagnostic procedures and management. The role entails exclusive time for research and education development. 

We welcome full-time and part-time applications (minimum 2 days per week), offering flexibility to support work–life balance. The service operates during standard business hours (8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday)

Ideal Candidate

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Sound understanding of vascular ultrasound findings and their role in informing patient management
  • Experience contributing to staff education, quality improvement and/or research activities
