- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, with a Nurse Practitioner endorsement in a relevant specialty field. Alternatively, a Transitional Nurse Practitioner (TNP) currently undertaking a relevant Master’s degree that will lead to endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner, or willingness and eligibility to undertake a Master’s degree that will lead to endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner. Applicants must possess the equivalent of three (3) years full-time experience in an advanced practice nursing role within the area of intended practice, obtained within the past six (6) years.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive health assessments of target patient populations, collecting relevant clinical data to support evidence-based clinical, diagnostic, and prescribing decisions within a nursing context.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers, and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
- Demonstrated ability to perform in a clinical leadership role evidenced by participation in practice development activities including mentoring, education, active participation in communities of practice, policy development, research, and quality improvement.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
