What you’ll be doing
Supercharge your surgical training and gain hands-on experience in a high-volume, tertiary Neurosurgery unit at St George Hospital, a leading Level 1 Trauma Centre.
We are seeking a motivated and committed Unaccredited Trainee to join our dynamic Neurosurgery team. This role offers excellent exposure to a broad range of neurosurgical conditions, including trauma, vascular, tumour, and spinal surgery, within a supportive teaching environment.
This position is suitable for doctors who have:
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Neurosurgery at Unaccredited Registrar level
At least 3 months’ experience in a Neuro ICU or equivalent critical care setting
Completed core residency rotations in relevant disciplines such as Neurology, General Surgery, Emergency Medicine, and Geriatrics
Demonstrated commitment to a career in Neurosurgery

Selection Criteria
- MBBS or equivalent, current general registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- High level communication skills, both written and verbal
- Skills in time management, prioritisation and problem solving
- Commitment to own continuing professional development and self education
- Commitment to quality improvement and patient safety
