Where you will be working:
Cardiology department provides a range of cardiology services at both Gosford and Wyong hospitals including dedicated coronary care inpatient wards for acutely unwell patients, a step-down ward, angiography interventional services in addition to outpatient services for those requiring follow-up after an admission, rehabilitation or diagnostic services. The Unaccredited Trainees primary responsibility will be the care of cardiac patients in CCU and step down cardiac wards in collaboration with other members of the Cardiology team.
Gosford Hospital is the principal referral hospital and trauma centre for the Central Coast, with over 500 inpatient beds and 24/7 access to the emergency department and operating theatres. A recent $368 million dollar redevelopment delivered a new emergency department, ICU, nuclear medicine facility, special care nursery and expanded medical imaging services.
Wyong Hospital is an acute major metropolitan hospital with over 300 beds providing inpatient, outpatient and emergency services to residents in the northern region of the Central Coast. A recent $200 million expansion delivered a new emergency department, ICU, paediatric unit, inpatient wards, theatres and expanded medical imaging services.
In conjunction with the University of Newcastle, CCLHD has recently opened the Central Coast Clinical School and Research Institute on the Gosford Hospital campus, providing additional opportunities in training and research.

- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
- Completion of at least three postgraduate years, Basic Physician Training, and preferably completion of the FRACP exam.
- Demonstrates commitment to ongoing cardiology training and education, excellent theoretical knowledge and clinical judgement, experience, research and teaching in Cardiology with a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary clinical team, including providing leadership and direction to ensure appropriate management of patients as well as diligence, punctuality, organization, record keeping, time management, problem solving skills, team work.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise, with demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
- Demonstrated time management, problem solving skills and excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and computer skills, with minimum of 30 words per minute. Along with evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self-education.
- Demonstrated understanding of how the District is Caring for the Coast and how this role would contribute.
