The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an unaccredited cardiology registrar role, working in a supportive, structured teaching environment to facilitate progression to formal advanced training, noting that the TVH has recently been accredited by the RACP as a rotational site for advanced trainees from The Gold Coast University Hospital.
You will be part of a collegiate team of 7 Cardiologists and 3 specialist Cardiology registrars supported by junior medical officers working across a 7-day roster. You will have access to weekly clinical meetings and education sessions, with close mentorship from consultants to advance your clinical skills and achieve your career objectives.
The Cardiology service at TVH is rapidly evolving. We have an established inpatient unit and outpatient clinics, and there is a comprehensive on-site echocardiography service. Our cardiac catheterisation laboratory opened in late 2024 and elective percutaneous coronary intervention commenced this year. Service enhancements anticipated for 2026 include primary PCI capability, cardiac electrical device implantation and multi-modality cardiac imaging (CT and MRI). We have strong links to the regional health partners for structural heart procedures, cardiac surgery and cardiac electrophysiology.
This position offers a real opportunity to expand your skills and gain valuable experience while working in an environment conducive to whole person development.
