Trainee

1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
2. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
3. Completion of at least three postgraduate years of medical practice, including 6 months supervised ICU experience in a CICM-accredited unit. Registered trainee, or eligible to register, with CICM, ANZCA, ACEM or equivalent body. Successful completion of, or intention to sit within 2 years, the First Part examination requirements of the CICM or similar and eligible to undertake subspecialty training in Intensive Care in Australia.
4. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams, including the sharing of appropriate information internally and externally with key persons or services.
5. Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise.
6. Demonstrated verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to vary communication style in line with the understanding of the needs of diverse audiences.
7. Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads and display a flexible approach to meet changing situations in a demanding and unpredictable clinical environment.

8. Demonstrated commitment to participating in training and development opportunities to further develop skills and knowledge in the area of intensive care medicine.
