About these roles
Two separate roles are available to work in the Community Care and Priority Populations unit:

  • Role 1 will work on policy and reform around non-government organisations (December 2024 – 30 June 2027)
  • Role 2 will work on policy around primary and community care (ongoing)


You'll be joining the largest public health system in Australia and contribute to a world-class health system in NSW.

Be part of a high-performing team providing strategic advice and delivering evaluation, program monitoring and data management and analytics that supports NSW Health to make decisions about policies and programs within the Health and Social Policy portfolio.

Crown Clerk 9/10, starting salary from $120,859 - $133,183 p.a. (plus Super and annual leave loading), with a 35-hour work week.

Senior Policy Officer REQ528856 – Priority Populations team (non-government organisations)
This role has a particular focus on how NSW Health works in partnership with non-government organisations, grant and contract administration and reform for non-government organisations.

Essential requirements: 

  • Substantial experience in the provision of policy advice in a complex and multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of policies and legislation impacting on the health and social policy portfolio
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in undertaking all stages of the policy cycle (development, implementation and review)
  • Experience or knowledge of grant and/or contract management with non-government organisations.
     

Senior Policy Officer REQ529057 – Primary and Community Care
This role has a particular focus on how NSW Health community health policy, women’s health and partnership work with the primary care sector.

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of policies and legislation impacting on the health and social policy portfolio
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in undertaking all stages of the policy cycle (development, implementation and review).
     

 

Working at The Ministry of Health 
The Health and Social Policy Branch is part of the Health System Strategy and Patient Experience Division in the NSW Ministry of Health.

The Branch works in partnership with the health system, government agencies, academia and the non-government sector to develop equity-based policies and programs for the NSW health system, including where these connect with social care. The work of the Branch is strongly influenced by evidence-based and social determinants approaches and focusses on building connections and integrating care.

This position is located in St Leonards, in a modern, purpose-built building within an activity-based working environment. Close to public transport, cafés and local amenities.
