The Nepean Blue Mountains Health District offers a wide range of Medical Imaging (Radiology), Nuclear Medicine, and Nuclear Medical Therapy procedures through our various facilities/services with a goal to help diagnose, assess, and treat patient's injury or disease.
We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and proactive Technical Assistant Grade 2 to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities across the department, contributing to safe, efficient, and high‑quality patient care. As a Technical Assistant, you will provide hands‑on support to Medical and Allied Health staff by maintaining equipment, preparing clinical spaces, and assisting with essential operational tasks. Your work will help create a safe, organised, and responsive environment for both staff and patients.
You will be part of a team, who is organised and takes pride in supporting and ensuring high standards of safety and cleanliness. You will enjoy hands‑on work, communicate well, and remain calm and efficient in a busy environment.
As a Technical Assistant Grade 2, you’ll play a vital role in keeping the department running smoothly. Your work ensures clinicians can focus on what they do best, providing exceptional care. What you will bring to the role
- Experience working in a hospital /health environment.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills with an ability to interact with both staff and patients.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise work and effectively manage time.
- Demonstrated ability to use computer information systems such as email and MS Office.
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles of patient care and an ability to respond appropriately in situations where patients may require assistance or support.
- Demonstrated understanding of infection control procedures.
- Demonstrated understanding of manual handling risks and their controls.
