We are currently recruiting a highly motivated individual to join our team in the Children's Intensive Care Unit (CICU), Randwick. The 'Technical Aide position' is very unique to CICU. It is a highly skilled role that is committed to assisting the nursing staff in the delivery expert nursing care.
The Technical Aide main focus consists of, but not limited to stock procurement, tracking, tracing and management, where some computer skills would be of benefit. Also cleaning and maintenance of specialist equipment and patient associated areas placing particular emphasis on infection control. This is a 7 day rotating shift position consisting of am and pm shifts.
What you'll be doing
The Technical Aide position is a multi-skilled role that is committed to assisting the Nursing staff in the delivery of expert nursing care to the critically unwell child. This will be achieved by ensuring all necessary equipment, consumables and bed space areas are available at all times. The Technical Aide will work under the broad supervision of Nursing Team Leaders, Equipment Co-ordinator, Nursing Unit Manager and Clinical Support Officer (CSO). Decisions affecting overall management will remain the responsibility of the Nurse Manager.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in a similar position in a healthcare facility.
- Has capacity to work under pressure on a diverse range of tasks and be team focused.
- Willingness to clean infectious patient rooms and/or equipment in accordance with established infection control procedures.
