What you'll be doing 
In this pivotal leadership role, you’ll be responsible for managing the operational delivery of clinical trials in Medical Oncology at Westmead Hospital. You’ll lead and develop a multidisciplinary team while driving trial efficiency, growth and innovation.

  • Oversee daily trial operations including recruitment, scheduling and participant monitoring
  • Lead and support a team of Coordinators, Research Nurses and Trial Assistants
  • Ensure trial protocols and GCP standards are met across all trial activities
  • Foster strong partnerships with Investigators, sponsors and health professionals
  • Manage MOCTU’s trial portfolio and resource allocation to support growth and excellence

How to Apply

  1. Relevant health related qualification and/or experience in the field of medical oncology clinical research and clinical trials.
  2. Extensive experience running clinical trials at site (public or private hospital).
  3. Demonstrated excellent leadership skills either as a line manager or as a mentor/trainer to Clinical Trial Coordinators.
  4. Experience working in, or dealing with, sponsors and industry.
  5. Previous experience in clinical trial audits either Sponsor lead or regulatory body audits (for cause audits also acceptable).
  6. Demonstrated high level interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, such as negotiation and report writing applicable in both a research and administrative context.
  7. Demonstrated understanding of the legislation, codes and guidelines relevant to clinical and research ethics, and the NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, relevant privacy acts and guidelines, the Human Tissue Act, and the Therapeutic Goods Act as it relates to use of medications in human research.
  8. Proven highly developed delegation skills and staff coaching skills.
