What you'll be doing
The senior systems engineer will be responsible for the maintenance of two specific local servers dedicated to the Big Data for Small People project, including the connection of these to the Philips monitoring network in the hospital, and the collection, storage and analysis of signals from intensive care and anaesthesia environments. This will include management of Amazon Web Services connections used for backup of the servers.
The senior systems engineer role will also include a specific focus on supporting clinical data science activity and research, and will have exposure to solutions involving programming languages, data engineering and data science, including data queries and visualisation.
- A degree in computer science or relevant field, or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience.
- Linux-based (CentOS/RHEL/Ubuntu) system administration experience including experience with containerized software and technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Exposure or experience in development of a Disaster Recovery Plan and security frameworks
- Experience with LDAP and other authentication platforms (OIDC) an asset
- Familiarity with relational databases preferred (MariaDB, MySQL, SQL Server) required including experience building data integrations to ingest and serve models and data to respective source systems and downstream consumers
- Proficiency with programming preferred and highly valued (Python preferred) and AWS Development of deployment (CI/CD) frameworks
- Diagnostic and problem-solving skills with proven ability to use initiative and proactively seek solutions to problems
- Strong awareness of current industry trends not only in the IT environment but also in the context of a modern health care delivery organisation
