Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD) is seeking a passionate and motivated Sustainability Project Officer to join our Infrastructure, Planning and Sustainability team.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping and delivering sustainability initiatives that support healthier communities and a more environmentally responsible health system.
About the role
As a Sustainability Project Officer, you will support the development and delivery of sustainability projects across the District. Working with a diverse range of stakeholders, you will coordinate projects from planning through to implementation and evaluation, ensuring alignment with strategic and legislative requirements.
You will:
Support the design and implementation of sustainability initiatives across HNELHD
Coordinate stakeholders and build strong partnerships across clinical and corporate teams
Manage project plans, documentation, reporting and evaluation activities
Analyse data to inform decision-making and track project outcomes
Contribute to change management strategies to ensure successful and sustainable outcomes
Identify and manage project risks and competing priorities
About you
You are a proactive and solutions-focused professional with a passion for sustainability and improving healthcare outcomes. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can effectively engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
You will bring:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in health, project management, sustainability or a related field
Demonstrated experience delivering projects and supporting change management initiatives
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and inform decisions
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team
High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
