About the role
A current vacancy exists within the Walgett team for a Support Services Supervisor. Patient support services include food services, food safety, environmental services, cleaning, waste management, laundry and linen service. This position will be split evenly between designated days of Management duties & designated days of Hospital Assistant duties.
Your supervisor role will include rostering, reporting, compliance, auditing, documentation, improvement programs and providing clear communication to staff to ensure that risks to patient and staff injury are minimised and the hospital runs efficiently and smoothly. Hospital Assistants support the delivery of efficient and effective catering and cleaning services to the patients and residents within the Multipurpose Service.
As a part of your role, you will also need to be able to step into the roles of the team you supervise. You will need to be reliable, punctual and energetic, physically fit, have a caring and supportive attitude and use your good communication skills. Support Services are integral and valued members of our team. You’ll not only see the results of your care, but the appreciation of the community of the role you play in their health.
This role involves shift work on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
Benefits include:
• Extra pay for shifts: afternoons (10–12.5%), nights (10–15%), Saturdays (50%), Sundays (75%), public holidays (150%)
• Annual leave with 17.5% loading
• Sick leave after a qualifying period
• Superannuation at 12%
Salary packaging (extra take-home pay):
You can choose to pay for some everyday expenses (like rent, mortgage or bills) using your pre-tax income. This is called salary packaging and means you pay less tax and keep more of your pay each week.
• Salary package up to $11,659 per year in non-remote areas (Bathurst, Blayney, Dubbo, Molong, Orange)
Salary package up to $20,668 per year in remote areas (more the 40KM from these towns/cities)
This can increase your take-home pay by around $65–$105 per week, depending on your situation.
