As our Social Work Student Educator, you will contribute to excellence in clinical practice, education, and service development while supporting the next generation of social workers. In this role, you will:

  • Be part of a passionate, committed, and dynamic Social Work team.

  • Contribute as a key member of the Social Work leadership team.
  • Support and facilitate undergraduate Fieldwork Education placements in partnership with Social Work services and universities.
  • Provide students with guidance, mentorship, and structured learning opportunities throughout their placements.
  • Liaise with university partners to ensure high‑quality field education and alignment with academic requirements.
  • Champion and contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Support the integration and advancement of evidence‑based practice across social work services.
  • Participate in research activities that enhance clinical practice and service delivery.
  • Work within a collaborative, innovative, and supportive multidisciplinary healthcare environment. 

     

     


     

Are You the Right Fit? 
We’re looking for a Social Work professional who brings both passion and expertise to student education and clinical practice. You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification and a strong professional grounding in contemporary social work practice.
  • Significant experience working in health settings, with an ability to understand and respond to complex clinical and psychosocial needs.
  • A strong track record in student education, including coordinating placements and fostering meaningful learning experiences.
  • Confidence in navigating challenging situations, making well‑reasoned decisions, and maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues, leaders, and university partners.
  • Experience providing clinical supervision and high‑level guidance to others within the social work profession.
  • A commitment to improving services through evidence‑based practice, and experience driving or contributing to quality improvement initiatives. 
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing demands while working both independently and as part of a specialised multidisciplinary team. 
     
 

Selection Criteria 
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below. 

1. A Social Work degree providing eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
2. Extensive post graduate experience working as a Social Worker in relevant clinical areas in a health setting, including a demonstrated understanding of complex health conditions and the impact on wellbeing. 
3. Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision and expert advice/consultation to the social work service and the clinical speciality. 
4. Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing, leading and evaluating of quality improvement activities involving the application of evidenced based practice within social work.
