Cardiology Nurses - an exciting opportunity to provide clinical expertise in the role of Structural Heart Disease Clinical Nurse Consultant. The role is part time 14hrs per week until October 2026.

The Structural Heart Disease (SHD) Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) will provide a central point of referral for patients with a range of structural heart conditions suitable for consideration and workup for percutaneous and/or transcatheter therapies, including valvular heart disease, atrial fibrillation and other specific forms of congenital heart disease within Royal North Shore Hospital and the NSLHD.]

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
 

  1. A registered nurse who has a minimum of 5 years full time post graduate experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience working in this area within an acute hospital environment. Additionally, the applicant must have relevant post registration qualifications (minimum Grad Diploma/Certificate level) or evidence of working towards a Master’s level qualification in Cardiology or other relevant speciality.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate with patients, carers and the multidisciplinary team using current research and evidence.
  3. Demonstrated high level clinical experience and leadership, competency and expertise in cardiology and structural heart disease including experience in the assessment and management of patients and their families with complex needs.
  4. Effective organisational, time management, research and computer skills and proven ability to assess, plan, initiate and manage complex cases and work towards goals and targets.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills and communication, including a demonstrated ability to maintain and establish networks across multiple disciplines within the LHD.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to personal and professional development and quality improvement.
