Bankstown Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Sterilisation Technician Grade 2 to join our busy and dynamic Sterilising Services Department. This role is well suited to an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong communication skills, and is committed to delivering high-quality service while supporting a diverse and multicultural team 

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the reprocessing of reusable medical devices in accordance with relevant standards and infection control practices. 
  • Ability to process a high volume of surgical instruments and loan equipment while maintaining accuracy, quality, and efficiency. 
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet demanding turnaround times. 
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a supportive multicultural team. 
  • Willingness to learn new skills, adapt to changing service demands, and contribute positively to continuous improvement initiatives. 
     
 

Are You the Right Fit? 
Join a busy and fast-paced Sterilising Services Department that plays a vital role in supporting operating theatres and clinical care across Bankstown Hospital. We are looking for a reliable and motivated Sterilisation Technician who can work effectively in a high-demand environment. 

  • Holds a Certificate II or III in Sterilising Services and demonstrates sound knowledge of sterilisation principles, standards, and reprocessing requirements. 
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately, prioritise urgent requests, and manage competing workloads in a high-demand environment. 
  • Experience in processing loan instrument sets and dental instruments is highly regarded. 
  • Physically capable of working in a demanding environment involving frequent handling and movement of instrument trays and loan sets. 
  • Flexible and dependable, with the ability to work rotating shifts and contribute to a service that directly supports operating theatres and clinical care across Bankstown Hospital 
 

Selection Criteria

  • Do you currently hold a Certificate II or III in Health Service Assistance (Sterilisation Services) or equivalent? Please attach a copy of all relevant qualifications with your application.
