Achieve Something Great
Liverpool Hospital is seeking an experienced Sterilisation Technician Team Leader to join our dynamic Sterilisation Services Department. This is an excellent opportunity to work with advanced technology in a modern, well equipped environment while playing a vital role in supporting surgical teams and ensuring the highest standards of patient safety.

In this role, you will oversee daily workflows, supervise Grade 1 and Grade 2 Sterilising Technicians, and ensure all cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation processes comply with SWSLHD policies and Australian Standard AS 5369:2023. You will also be responsible for monitoring and managing consumables to support seamless, uninterrupted service delivery.

This Monday to Friday position offers rotating day and afternoon shifts, ideal for candidates who prefer weekends free and do not wish to work night duty. We are looking for someone with strong sterilisation experience, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive, team focused approach.

As part of Liverpool Hospital, you will join a welcoming, multicultural and professional team within a spacious, modern facility that promotes skill development, career progression and meaningful contribution to patient care.

Are You the Right Fit?
•Extensive experience in hospital sterilisation services
•Strong leadership skills, adaptability and a collaborative mindset
•Ability to supervise, guide and support staff to maintain high-quality and safety standards
•Excellent written, verbal and digital communication skills
•Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
•Ability to build effective working relationships across multidisciplinary teams
•Two (2) or more years of team leader or supervisory experience is desirable, but not essential

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

1. Tell me about a time you were responsible for managing staff to deliver a result under pressure. What was the situation, who was on the team, what actions did you take to lead and support them, and what was the outcome?
2. Describe a time when you used a particular leadership style to address a staff performance issue (e.g., staff conflict, staff underperformance, or compliance gaps). What leadership approach did you take, how did you adapt it to the team, and what measurable improvement resulted?
