The Role
 

The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is ‘exceptional care, healthier lives’. SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it. 

To provide services in the Central Sterilization Services Department within Prince of Wales Hospital or Sydney and Sydney Eye Hospital, with responsibilities for handling, cleaning, disinfecting, sterilization, and circulation of Reusable Medical Devices throughout the Hospital. To provide appropriate reprocessing of Reusable Medical Devices utilized in the Central Sterilization Services Department in accordance with relevant National and International Standards and Departmental Policies and Procedures.

Sydney Hospital is Australia's first hospital and dates from the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788.

The Hospital is in the heart of the Central Business District in Sydney within easy walking distance to public transport.  For staff who drive to work subsidised parking is available on site.

Selection Criteria

  1. Sterilising Services Certificate III or relevant experience in sterilising service or combination of both.
  2. Basic understanding of the workings of Sterilising Department and/or Sterile Storage Areas.
  3. Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team with the ability to work independently.
  4. Ability to work a 7 day, 24 hour rotating roster
