Join a dedicated and supportive Central Sterilising Services Department (CSSD) team at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital, playing a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality patient care. 

  • Contribute to the reprocessing, sterilisation and distribution of reusable medical devices across a broad range of clinical and surgical specialties. 
  • Work collaboratively with operating theatres, endoscopy and multidisciplinary clinical teams to support essential healthcare services. 
  • Utilise your attention to detail and technical expertise to ensure the timely turnaround of critical medical equipment. 
  • Gain exposure across all CSSD functions, including decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilisation and sterile storage. 
  • Be part of a team that champions patient safety, infection prevention, quality improvement and continuous learning. 
     
 

Are You the Right Fit? 
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Sterilisation Technician who is committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety and service delivery. 

  • Previous experience as a Grade 2 Sterilisation Technician within a healthcare environment, with knowledge of sterilisation standards and infection control practices. 
  • Demonstrated experience in reusable medical device reprocessing and a sound understanding of AS 5369 and relevant guidelines. 
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to patient safety and quality outcomes. 
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. 
  • Reliable, proactive and flexible, with the ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays. 
 

Selection Criteria 
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below. 

  • Certificate II or III in Health Service Assistance (Sterilisation Services) or equivalent.
  • Describe your experience in the reprocessing of reusable medical devices, including cleaning, inspection, assembly, sterilisation and storage. How do you ensure compliance with relevant standards, policies and manufacturer instructions?
  • Explain the quality assurance checks you perform during a typical shift and why they are important to patient safety and infection prevention.
  • Describe your experience with flexible endoscope reprocessing. How do you ensure compliance with relevant standards, manufacturer instructions and infection prevention requirements throughout the reprocessing cycle?
