Employment Type: Permanent Part Time working 20 hours per week . Temporary roles are available to visa holders, with contracts issued in accordance with visa conditions. Visa holders will be considered where no suitable Australian citizen or permanent resident is identified. 

Remuneration: $36.80 - $38.43 per hour + 12% Superannuation + Salary Packaging

Help deliver safe surgical care behind the scenes. 

  • Play a critical role in supporting high-quality patient care as part of Fairfield Hospital's Perioperative Services team. 
  • Clean, disinfect, inspect, package, sterilise, and distribute reusable medical devices and surgical instruments. 
  • Ensure all reprocessing activities comply with AS5369:2023 standards and infection prevention requirements. 
  • Contribute to the safe and efficient delivery of surgical services through accuracy and attention to detail. 
  • Make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes by maintaining the highest standards of sterility and safety.

Selection Criteria 
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below. 

  • Do you currently hold a Certificate II or III in Health Service Assistance (Sterilisation Services) or equivalent? Please attach a copy of all relevant qualifications with your application. 
  • This role involves cleaning, disinfecting, packaging, and sterilising reusable medical devices in line with AS5369-2023 standards. Can you describe any experience you have with following strict procedures or protocols? How did you ensure accuracy and safety? 
  • Working in Sterilising Services requires effective communication and teamwork, especially when reporting equipment issues or delays. Can you provide an example of how you’ve worked in a team environment to solve a problem or maintain service delivery? 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to process & store endoscopes using automated endoscope reprocessor (AERs), Endodry cabinet & other complex devices as applicable
