Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking a dedicated Staff Specialist in Rheumatology to join our team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital!
This role will provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Rheumatology, and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Rheumatology Department and Hospital as required.
Royal Prince Alfred Hospital is one of Australia’s leading quaternary referral centres and is a principal teaching hospital of the University of Sydney. The Rheumatology department is one of the largest in the country and offers world class inpatient and outpatient facilities, clinical services, teaching and research opportunities. Co-located with Orthopaedic colleagues in the Institute of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics (IRO) building, the outpatient multidisciplinary facilities include radiology, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, bone mineral density service, rheumatology infusion centre, crystal microscopy/ capillaroscopy/musculoskeletal ultrasound/percutaneous muscle biopsy, pain services, and a world class research unit. Our staff work collaboratively to deliver best practice and are dedicated, innovative and caring.
The Staff Specialist will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.
The successful applicant will be a current registered Medical practitioner, registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) with recognised qualifications in Rheumatology and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Staff Specialist (State) Award.
Position will be available from February 2027. In addition, applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within two months from this date, may be considered.
