Manning Base Hospital invites applications from suitability qualified consultants for Staff Specialist or Visiting Medical Officer opportunities. Located in a vibrant community on the Barrington Coast, Manning Base Hospital is committed to delivering high quality care to women at every stage of life.


About the department 
 

  • Busy birthing suite (approx. 650 deliveries p.a.) and outpatient clinics (including ANC, Gynaecology, High Risk Obstetrics and Colposcopy)
  • Surgical services including minimally invasive, open and laparoscopic surgery
  • JMO support (Accredited Registrar +/- Rural Generalists, SRMO and RMO)
  • Links to a well-established Department of Paediatrics with Special Care Nursery 
  • Close relationship with the University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health with teaching students in Year 3 – 5 of the Joint Medical Program.
  • Appointment as a Conjoint Academic is encouraged (level commensurate with qualifications and experience)
