Join the Rehabilitation Medicine team at John Hunter Hospital, part of the Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD), and contribute to high-quality, consultant level, patient-centred care across a diverse and growing region.
About the Role
This position provides consultancy-level clinical services in collaboration with other Rehabilitation Medicine specialists and multidisciplinary teams. You’ll be involved in delivering general and specialist rehabilitation programs, including:
• Stroke and traumatic brain injury
• Spinal cord impairment
• Amputee rehabilitation
• Complex medical rehabilitation and community transition planning
Some rehabilitation services are currently delivered from Maitland Hospital, supporting continuity of care while the new Acute Services Building at JHH is under construction and scheduled for completion in 2026. This state-of-the-art facility will significantly expand ICU, ED, maternity, and surgical capacity, enhancing integration with rehabilitation services.
Our Ideal Candidate
• Holds Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians FAFRM (RACP) and registration with AHPRA
• Demonstrates recent, broad experience in inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation
• Skilled in developing and implementing rehabilitation goals and discharge plans
• Familiar with FIM/AROC data collection and its application in clinical practice
