About the role
The permanent part-time (16 hours per week) role of Staff Specialist Palliative Care works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure that the Braeside Hospital Palliative Care service functions in a way that aligns with the Mission, Vision and Mission-in-Action of HammondCare and ensures that the medical and other care provided to patients is of high quality.
HammondCare is a NSW Health-affiliated organisation all NSW Health transferrable entitlements will be recognised.
Duties include
- Provide demonstrably high-quality specialist Palliative Care services to patients in the South-West Sydney Local Government Area
- To maintain personal professional competence in Palliative Care
- To work within healthcare teams and with other senior medical staff in a cooperative and collegiate way, evidencing the Mission, Motivation and Mission-in-Action of HammondCare
- Undertake teaching of medical students and trainee doctors and undertake research in Palliative Care as opportunities present.
About you
- Registered (or registerable) as a Specialist Medical Practitioner in Palliative Care Medicine in Australia (AHPRA)
- FRACP or FAChPM or equivalent Consultant qualification.
- Credentialed experience in multidisciplinary specialist practice in inpatient, consultative, clinic and community settings
- Demonstrated strong and effective communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team
- Organisational ability, both personal organisation and ability to supervise
- Willingness to participate in teaching and research projects
- Current Driver's Licence
- Research Qualification (desirable)
