What you'll be doing
As the Speech Pathology Head of Department, you will lead and manage the Speech Pathology service at Auburn Hospital, setting professional standards, guiding clinical excellence and ensuring safe, effective, high-quality care. You will provide strategic direction, support workforce capability and maintain your own clinical caseload.
Lead the professional, clinical and operational performance of the Speech Pathology service
Manage human, financial and physical resources to meet service and budget goals
Oversee recruitment, orientation, supervision and performance development for staff
Develop, review and implement policies, procedures and clinical practice standards
Drive quality improvement, research, safety initiatives and KPI monitoring across the service

Essential Requirements
Qualification: Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology that provides eligibility for full membership to Speech Pathology Australia.
Selection Criteria:
Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology that allows eligibility for full membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
Substantial clinical experience in the provision of Speech Pathology services across a broad range of clinical areas.
Demonstrated ability in strategic clinical planning and the provision of a patient focused comprehensive, high quality and cost-effective clinical service delivery.
Demonstrated leadership skills and previous management experience in a health care setting, including staff management experience.
Demonstrated ability to implement and improve patient safety, patient flow, continuum of care, and waiting times for treatment.
Demonstrated commitment to and experience in teaching, quality improvement and professional development.
