This is a Level 3 position. However, if there are no appropriate Level 3 applicants, applications from Level 1 and 2 will be considered. The selection criteria reflects the requirements for a Level 3 applicant. Responses from Level 1 or 2 applicants need to demonstrate their level of competence with regard to the same criteria and their ability to work towards Level 3. The expected performance of the incumbent will be commensurate with his/her years of experience and current level at commencement of appointment. The incumbent will work towards meeting the criteria for Level 3.
About your new role:
As a Speech Pathologist with Narrabri Community Health Service, you will enjoy a varied and engaging caseload across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. The role provides the opportunity to deliver care in hospital, clinic, and outreach environments, offering a well-rounded and rewarding clinical experience.
You will work with clients of all ages, supporting a wide range of communication and swallowing needs. This includes exposure to areas such as speech, language, voice, fluency, and dysphagia, allowing you to broaden and strengthen your clinical capability. Opportunities to facilitate group programs and contribute to education initiatives are also available.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will share your expertise and collaborate closely with colleagues to deliver coordinated, person-centred care. You will be supported by experienced clinicians locally, along with guidance from the Northern Speech Pathology Lead, ensuring access to supervision, mentoring, and ongoing professional development. You will also be part of the wider HNE Speech Pathology network, providing further opportunities for learning and connection.

Narrabri Community Health brings together a dedicated multidisciplinary team, where Speech Pathology plays a key and valued role. You will work in close partnership with community and acute teams to support integrated and holistic care delivery.
The service promotes a strong culture of learning and collaboration, with regular in-services, case reviews, and shared professional development opportunities.
Based within the recently established Narrabri Hospital, you will work across a range of settings including inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, community programs, and group services.

- * Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position or the agreed duration of your contract. All payments to part-time and contract employees will be made on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions. If your contract ends before the agreed completion date, you may be required to repay a portion of the incentive. Please note: the increased RHWIS allowance is approved until 30th June 2026. Commencement after this date may be subject to change, including the allowance amount for which the candidate may be eligible.
