About the role

We are looking for an experienced Sonographer to join us in at Young Health Service to provide a high-quality medical imaging service to MLHD patients to support the provision of optimal patient health outcomes. As a part time permanent and temporary relief contract this is the perfect opportunity to kick start your career in health within our supportive Radiology team. Enjoy a close working relationship with local obstetricians and emergency medical officers in one of the regions busiest small obstetric sites.

 

As a Sonographer, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing a wide range of medical imaging and sonographic examinations, including obstetrics, gynaecology, vascular, MSK, paediatrics and interventional procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout
  • Prioritising and managing workload effectively across competing demands for both inpatients and outpatients to ensure timely and appropriate care delivery
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of patient details and examination information in line with RIS/PACS business rules and reporting requirements
  • Collaborating effectively with the multidisciplinary team, external referrers and reporting radiologists
  • Maintaining current ASAR accreditation and engaging in ongoing professional development to ensure practice remains consistent with contemporary sonographic standards and NSW Health policy

  • Communicate confidently and effectively with patients, carers, referrers and multidisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality patient-centred care  
  • Manage competing priorities with a calm and organised approach, balancing inpatient and outpatient demands without compromising on quality or safety  
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development and takes an active interest in mentoring and supervising junior and graduate sonographers  
  • Hold a current NSW Class C Driver's Licence and is willing to travel to peripheral hospitals and participate in on-call and after-hours rosters as required  
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check and National Police Check, and is committed to upholding the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment
