How to apply

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Social Work which provides eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), along with a minimum of 3 years clinical experience as a social worker.
  • Ability to demonstrate clinical reasoning and expertise in social work practice, which is relevant to attachment theory, the biopsychosocial model, social determinants of health and trauma informed practices in relation to working with vulnerable and complex families.
  • Demonstrated experience in completing psychosocial assessments, delivering Focussed Psychological Strategies and engaging families in targeted interventions, while utilising trauma informed and child-centred practices.
  • Demonstrated high level of effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Including the ability to be culturally appropriate and ensure reasonable adjustments are made for those of a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse background and/or those with a disability
  • Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively with health staff, non-Government agencies and service providers; while utilising their expertise, skills and knowledge to ensure the care team are being child-centred, therapeutic and are working towards building self-determination in families.
  • Demonstrated commitment to adhere to the AASW Practice Standards, AASW Code of Ethics, AASW Continuous Professional Development policy and any internal professional policies or frameworks; Along with supporting the development of level 1 or 2 social workers to meet these through clinical supervision.
  • Ability to actively participate in the planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting on programs. While also identify areas for improvement and develop, to lead quality improvement activities; This may include conducting research and participate in the provision of in-service education sessions.
  • Current unrestricted NSW Driver’s Licence and availability for travel with overnight stays.
