Are You the Right Fit? 
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Social Worker who is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary health environment. You will bring extensive health experience, advanced clinical expertise and strong professional judgement to support patients, families and colleagues within a complex healthcare setting. 

  • Must hold a recognised Social Work degree that provides eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). 
  • Must have extensive post-graduate experience working as a Social Worker in health, including a demonstrated understanding of complex health conditions and their impact on wellbeing. 
  • Must have demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision and expert advice/consultation to the social work service. 
  • Must demonstrate experience in prioritising a challenging and demanding workload, managing stressful situations, and applying advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel or critical nature. 
  • Must demonstrate experience in planning, implementing and evaluating quality improvement activities involving the application of evidence-based practice within social work.
  • Show strong organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise workload and manage challenging or high-pressure situations
  • Work effectively both independently and collaboratively, contributing positively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Have strong communication skills.
  • Be willing to be part of an on-call roster.
     
 

Selection Criteria 
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below. 

  • A Social Work degree which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Please describe your post-graduate experience working as a Social Worker in a health setting, including your experience supporting people with complex health conditions and understanding their impact on wellbeing.
  • Please provide an example of your experience providing clinical supervision and expert advice or consultation to social workers, including how you support high-quality and evidence-based practice.
  • Please describe a situation where you managed a challenging or high pressure workload involving complex or critical circumstances. How did you prioritise competing demands, apply advanced professional judgement, communicate effectively, and work independently and/or collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team?
  • Please provide an example of a quality improvement initiative you have planned, implemented and/or evaluated within social work. How did you apply evidence-based practice, contribute to improved outcomes, and evaluate the effectiveness of the initiative?
