Where you'll be working - Moruya

Moruya, NSW, is a charming country town nestled on the banks of the picturesque Moruya River. Located on the South Coast of New South Wales, Moruya offers an idyllic escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. With its rich history, stunning natural landscapes, and a variety of activities, Moruya is a perfect destination for travelers seeking both relaxation and adventure.

The Eurobodalla Health Service is located in the Yuin Nation on the beautiful south coast of NSW. It is a networked service spread over three campuses, with two hospitals co-located with community health, Batemans Bay and Moruya, and a standalone community health centre in Narooma collocated with the library.

The new Eurobodalla Regional Hospital (ERH) will be larger than both Moruya and Batemans Bay hospitals combined, designed with the capacity to grow as demand for services changes. The NSW Government has funded $330 million to build a sustainable, modern and purpose-built hospital to support the needs of the entire Eurobodalla Community. The facility due to open in 2027. What you'll be doing

Provide contemporary comprehensive GP Anaesthetic services for optimal patient outcomes. 
  
Provide and support training to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice . 

Provide contemporary comprehensive GP Anaesthetic services for optimal patient outcomes. 

Moruya Hospital is currently  a level 3  NSW level 3 facility  and will be transitioning to level 4 services in march 2027.

We provide a range of elective and emergency surgical services; general surgery; urology; ophthalmology; gynaecology and obstetrics. It is supported by a Close observation Unit.

The new Eurobodalla Regional Hospital will be a sustainable, modern and purpose-built hospital to support the needs of the entire Eurobodalla Shire from Narooma to Batemans Bay. The new hospital will be larger than both Moruya and Batemans Bay hospitals combined, designed with the capacity to grow as demand for services changes. Using the latest technology and models of care, the new hospital will deliver patient-centred health services close to home.

The new Eurobodalla Regional Hospital will include:

• An emergency department 

• An eight bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) /Close Observation Unit (COU)

 • Increased capacity for chemotherapy treatments and increased access to renal dialysis 

• Surgical and operating theatres and a day stay surgical unit 

• Expanded medical imaging, including MRI 

• Ambulatory care for community outpatient services 

• Paediatric and maternity services, and a special care nursery 

• Mental health beds for short term admissions, and 

• Enhanced education and training facilities, including a simulation laboratory.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners or Australian College of Rural & Remote Medicine and Advanced Certificate in Rural Generalist Anaesthesia (RGA) or JCCA,
  2. Registered or eligible for registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  3. Demonstrated current clinical experience in Anaesthesia at an appropriate level.
  4. Demonstrated understanding of clinical governance principles including the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) standards.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and provide effective leadership.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, clinical research, simulation and quality improvement.
  7. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues and staff; and effective communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases

This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015. All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
