About The Opportunity
Join our dynamic and collaborative team at Liverpool Hospital Sleep Service! We are excited to offer a Permanent Full-Time position, with flexibility for two part-time roles to job share (minimum of 16 hours per week). We welcome applications from both full-time and part-time candidates.

As part of our NATA/ASA-accredited service, you’ll work within a comprehensive diagnostic and treatment hub, encompassing an outpatient clinic, a five-bed sleep unit, home ambulatory sleep testing, respiratory failure services, and CPAP therapy services. You’ll provide top-tier care, utilizing your expertise in sleep study testing procedures and methodologies, while also contributing to CPAP and non-invasive ventilation treatment.
Our ideal candidate brings extensive experience in both public and private sleep science settings, a commitment to quality improvement aligned with NATA/ASA standards, and holds (or is eligible for) RPSGT or ANZSSA Certification.

What You'll be Doing
A Sleep Scientist is responsible for the provision of high quality patient care. They are expected to possess knowledge in the procedures, methodology and theory pertaining to sleep study testing and take responsibility for routine diagnostic and treatment (including CPAP and non-invasive ventilation) tests performed.
Where You'll Be Working
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.
The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.
Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.
Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the UNSW Sydney and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.
Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.

- Degree in a Science related discipline or such qualifications as the employer deems equivalent (e.g. Engineering, Nursing etc.)
- Previous or current hospital experience working within the field of Sleep Medicine
- Clear understanding of AASM scoring guidelines, ability to follow centre specific scoring guidelines with experience in scoring/analysis of sleep studies
- Experience working as a Sleep Technician performing sleep study setup, computerised sleep monitoring,and preferred additional skills: PAP titration of patients overnight
- Experience with initiation and management of patients on CPAP and non-invasive ventilation therapy within the home setting
