About the Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and motivated professional to join our dynamic Sleep Laboratory team—part of the first public hospital-based Sleep Laboratory Service in the Macarthur region. In this role, you will play a vital part in improving patient outcomes through the accurate diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. Working with cutting-edge equipment such as Compumedics Profusion software, Gravel hardware, and Somte portable devices, you will conduct sleep studies, assist with CPAP therapy and adherence monitoring, and engage in a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
This role offers the chance to contribute to future services including MSLT, MWT, PAP titration, and in-lab polysomnography, as well as participate in staff training, protocol development, accreditation, and quality improvement activities. You will work closely with Sleep Physicians and multidisciplinary teams to provide personalised care while developing skills in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and IT support—with potential to expand into lung function testing. What You'll be Doing
A Sleep Scientist is responsible for the provision of high quality patient care. They are expected to possess knowledge in the procedures, methodology and theory pertaining to sleep study testing and take responsibility for routine diagnostic and treatment (including CPAP and non-invasive ventilation) tests performed.

Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals, part of the South Western Sydney Local Health District, work together to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the Macarthur region.
Campbelltown Hospital, a leading tertiary facility, offers a wide range of services including cardiology, maternity, palliative care, respiratory medicine, emergency medicine, and aged-care services. It also features specialised Mental Health and Cancer facilities. Camden Hospital complements these services by specialising in care for older persons with acute or chronic health conditions, including rehabilitation, palliative care, geriatric evaluation and management, and psychogeriatric care.

How to Apply

- Degree in a Science related discipline or such qualifications as the employer deems equivalent (eg engineering, pharmacy, nursing)
- Previous or current hospital experience working within the field of Sleep Medicine
- Clear understanding of AASM scoring guidelines, ability to follow centre specific scoring guidelines with experience in scoring/analysis of sleep studies
- Experience working as a Sleep Technician performing sleep study setup, computerised sleep monitoring
- Experience with initiation and management of patients on CPAP and non-invasive ventilation therapy within the home setting
- Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills
- Proven ability to work independently and with other team members and as part of a multidisciplinary team
