St George Mental Service is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for the temporary leave relief of the position of Service Director – St George Mental Health Service.
We require an engaging, experienced and qualified manager to join and lead our Mental Health team. The role provides senior leadership, strategic and senior operational management for staff working within the St George Mental Health Service. The Service Director is responsible for effective clinical, workforce and financial management of the service to support person centred care for our consumers. The position will function a member of the SESLHD Mental Health Service Executive and will work in partnership with the General Manager MHS and other MHS Service Directors to achieve the strategic and operational goals.

Where you'll be working
You will be based at St George Mental Health Service, located on the St George Hospital campus, Kogarah.
Travel to other SESLHD MHS sites is required.

Role Requirements
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the following criteria in your application:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Health (Health Service Manager) with post graduate qualifications or relevant experience.
- Extensive experience in leadership and management of a Mental Health Service with demonstrated ability to develop, direct and lead a team in the achievement of organisational goals.
- Demonstrated ability to manage human, financial and physical resources effectively and efficiently to ensure budget and performance targets are met.
- Knowledge and demonstrated commitment to National, State and LHD Mental Health policy directions and experience capability to apply these to the operational setting.
- Demonstrated conceptual and innovative problem solving skills for managing conflicting priorities and developing, implementing and monitoring recommendations and advice on policies, strategies and solutions across complex areas.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, verbal and written skills and demonstrated ability to consult, influence and negotiate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in developing and maintaining effective strategic partnerships with consumers, carers and health related organisations in the non-government and government sector with a commitment and ability to achieve quality improvement outcomes.
- Current drivers licence (with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
