An exciting opportunity exist sot join the Tumbatin Developmental Clinic based at Randwick. The Social Worker works with the multidisciplinary team to provide specialised and evidence-based services to children attending the clinic for developmental and behavioural assessment and their families.
There are ample opportunities to participate in service development, quality improvement and research. The position is well supported by the Tumbatin MDT and the SCH SW Department, with access to clinical supervision and opportunites for professional devevlopment
What you'll be doing
The primary focus of this position is to provide a comprehensive and specialist social work service to children, young people and their families referred to Tumbatin Developmental Clinic for developmental and behavioural assessment. This includes psychosocial assessments, specialist counselling, group work, psycho-education and advocacy. The social worker works as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team.
The senior social work is required to play a key role in service development and continuous quality improvement to ensure clinical needs of children and their families are met. The position takes a leadership role in the development and provision of education programs in the relevant specialty for both social workers and health professionals within SCHN and externally. The social worker also provides a consultative role within their specialisation to key stakeholders.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has eligibility for AASW membership with significant post graduate experience in social work practice with families and children and/or in health context and substantial post graduate experience in social work practice with children and their families.
- Demonstrates skills and experience in clinical supervision, professional education activities, service planning, and quality improvement activities.
