About the Role

Sydney Dental Hospital (SDH) is part of Sydney Local Health District and is one of two major providers of public Oral Health Services in NSW. We provide a range of general and specialist dental services including orthodontics, paediatric dentistry, oral surgery, oral medicine, prosthodontics, periodontics, endodontics, prosthetic laboratories, special care dentistry and Royal Prince Alfred Dental Clinics. We also provide support services to our patients including nutrition, social work and legal services.

 

The Senior Social Worker will provide advanced, specialist social work services while demonstrating senior clinical leadership and advocacy for the social work including the ongoing establishment of a sustainable Social Work Service within Sydney Dental Hospital (SDH) Oral Health Services, driving service innovation, education, and quality improvement initiatives. This role will work in close collaboration with multidisciplinary clinicians across all levels of seniority and contribute to improved clinical outcomes and service excellence.

Ideal Candidate

  • Has a Degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, skill and significant recent clinical experience in the provision of Social Work services in a health setting with a range of clinical groups including assessment and counselling for complex psychosocial issues with disadvantaged groups, young persons and families.
  • Must come in to work Full-time at our office based role at Sydney Dental Hospital, conveniently located right outside Central station, Chalmers Street Exit!
