About the Role

Sydney Local Health District is one of the fastest growing Local Health Districts in New South Wales. Our facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring.

  

The Senior Risk Advisor supports the Chief Risk Officer in providing expert advice on enterprise-wide risk management, in line with the requirements within NSW Health Enterprise-wide Risk Management PD2022_023. The role is responsible for: 

  • Advising senior management on identifying, assessing, and monitoring key risks across SLHD. 
  • Strengthening the SLHD Risk Management Framework and its consistent implementation across SLHD. 


  

The role is responsible for: 

  • Providing advisory support and expertise to facilities & services in maintenance of local risk registers; and 
  • Supporting the Chief Risk Officer in the key initiatives implemented as per the SLHD Risk Management Strategic Plan 2025-27. 
  • Performing the role of the secretariat for the SLHD Risk Management Committee, and relevant Working Group(s); 
  • Administration of the shared District Risk mailbox, and resolving queries and concerns within the business; 
  • Administration of SLHD District Risk SharePoint site; 
  • Maintenance of the SLHD Executive Risk Register, and the associated reporting requirements of the SLHD Risk Management Committee, the SLHD Board and its sub-committees.

Ideal Candidate

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and current expertise and experience with risk management and systems in a complex operational environment. 
  • High level organisational skills with demonstrated achievements in project planning, including an established track record in effectively delivering milestones. 
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with experience in liaison with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience in development and delivery of education programs. 
  • High level knowledge of the principles of clinical governance, risk management, patient safety, continuous practice and systems improvement.
