- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category
- Aus/NZ Graduates/Competent Authority Pathway Candidates: Completion of 3 postgraduate years or more as a medical officer in an acute hospital setting and having practised Paediatric Medicine in an acute hospital setting for a minimum of 3 months out of the past 12 months or equivalent.
- Standard Pathway Candidates: Completion of a minimum of 4 postgraduate years in an acute hospital setting and practised clinical medicine in an acute hospital setting for a minimum of 12 months in the past two years, with a minimum of 6 months Paediatric Medicine experience in an Australian hospital or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, supporting colleagues with rosters and shift work, and including providing leadership and direction to ensure appropriate management of patients.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment, utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise, with demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management.
- Demonstrated time management and problem-solving skills, and evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self-education.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and computer skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of how the District is Caring for the Coast and how this role would contribute.
