About this role

  • The Senior Project Officer, Aged Care will work within the Aged Care Unit, with a particular project focus on leading the transition of NSW Health to the Commonwealth Support at Home program
  • This is a temporary role available from 19 May 2025 until 30 June 2028


You'll be joining the largest public health system in Australia and contribute to a world-class health system in NSW.

Be part of a high-performing team providing strategic advice and delivering evaluation, program monitoring and data management and analytics that supports NSW Health to make decisions about policies and programs within the Health and Social Policy portfolio.

Crown Clerk 9/10, starting salary from $125,693 - $138,510 p.a. (plus Super and annual leave loading), with a 35-hour work week.

Essential requirements

  • Demonstrated relevant, professional experience in the area of aged care and/or relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • Substantial experience in developing, analysing and evaluating policy and other projects in a multi-disciplinary or multi-agency environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders to deliver on complex policy and program/project areas.
  • Extensive knowledge of contemporary issues in Commonwealth funded community aged care services and the operation of these services within NSW Health settings


Working at The Ministry of Health 
The Health and Social Policy Branch is part of the Health System Strategy and Patient Experience Division in the NSW Ministry of Health.

The Branch works in partnership with the health system, government agencies, academia and the non-government sector to develop equity-based policies and programs for the NSW health system, including where these connect with social care. The work of the Branch is strongly influenced by evidence-based and social determinants approaches and focusses on building connections and integrating care.

This position is located in St Leonards, in a modern, purpose-built building within an activity-based working environment. Close to public transport, cafés and local amenities.
