As the digital centre of excellence for NSW Health, we design and deliver secure, scalable technology that supports patient care across the state, helping clinicians provide better healthcare, now and into the future.
Join eHealth NSW to create real-world impact, drive meaningful outcomes and support the health of millions every day.
About the Opportunity
As the Senior Platform Owner within the Cloud Services team, you will hold a critical leadership role in the delivery, security and ongoing assurance of cloud platforms across NSW Health. The Cloud Platform underpins a wide range of mission‑critical services used both within NSW Health and by the broader community, supporting more than 200,000 workforce members and citizens. These platforms are foundational to safe clinical care, workforce mobility, cyber security uplift and compliance with state and national security frameworks.
In this role, you will be the accountable owner of the NSW Health Cloud Service, ensuring the platform remains secure, resilient, scalable and capable of meeting the needs of one of the largest and most complex health organisations in Australia. You will lead the end‑to‑end platform lifecycle, including strategy, roadmap, while driving platform modernisation, reducing enterprise risk, and enabling public cloud services to be safely and effectively consumed at scale.
In this role, you will:
- Provide end‑to‑end leadership of the NSW Health Cloud Service, defining platform strategy, roadmap and technical standards.
- Lead platform delivery and alignment in partnership with Principal Engineers and Platform Architects, ensuring cohesive, reliable services that meet agreed outcomes, timelines, quality standards and operational requirements.
- Ensure platform stability, security and scalability through sound architectural design, integration and lifecycle upgrade decisions.
- Drive platform modernisation by reducing technical debt and proactively addressing enterprise and cyber risk.
- Work closely with Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture, Operations teams and strategic vendors to ensure compliance, assurance and service excellence.
Act as the ultimate escalation point for platform‑wide issues and material risks, providing decisive leadership and resolution.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Demonstrates extensive experience in public cloud services, including leadership of enterprise‑scale cloud platforms and services within complex organisational environments.
- Provides strong oversight of platform delivery and prioritisation, including ownership of backlogs, endorsement of priorities, and assurance that deliverables are clearly defined and aligned to strategic objectives.
- Exhibits proven leadership in platform ownership, with responsibility for platform strategy, roadmap development and end‑to‑end lifecycle management.
- Possesses a strong understanding of cyber security, FinOps and regulatory compliance requirements, ensuring platforms are operated in a secure, sustainable and compliant manner.
- Desirable technology expertise to assist technical direction and standards for cloud platforms within large‑scale or regulated environments.
