An exciting opportunity is now available for a Senior Planner/Planning Project Manager to join the District Planning Executive team, located at our Station St Office in Penrith. Your role as Senior Health Planner/Planning Project Manager will be responsible for leading and delivering a number of projects related to strategic, business and health service development.
The Senior Planner/Planning Project Manager at Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District leads moderate-complexity health service planning and strategic projects across the full project management lifecycle, ensuring initiatives are collaboratively scoped, delivered on time, and aligned with District and NSW Ministry of Health priorities. The role provides professional leadership to the Senior Data Analyst and applies innovative, evidence-based planning methodologies to identify service gaps and shape future service models, drawing on population data, epidemiological analysis, emerging technologies, and contemporary models of care.

What you will bring to the role
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Health Service Management, Project Management, Business Management, or a related health discipline, and/or demonstrated equivalent professional experience, with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively in a complex health service environment.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully and autonomously leading strategic, business, and/or service planning projects, including the ability to manage competing priorities, engage stakeholders, and deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes, preferably within a complex health service or health planning environment.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and work collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders across multiple disciplines and levels, including senior management, clinicians, primary care providers, non government organisations, community groups, and community members, to achieve project objectives and support the delivery of sustainable change.
- Demonstrated superior written communication skills, including proven experience in preparing complex project documentation such as plans, briefing papers, submissions, and reports, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and high quality materials for senior management and diverse stakeholder audiences.
- Demonstrated high level understanding of the NSW Health planning environment, including relevant governance frameworks, policies, and planning processes, with the ability to effectively operate, adapt, and deliver outcomes within a complex, dynamic, and highly regulated health system.
- Demonstrated strong problem solving, conceptual, and analytical skills, including the ability to analyse complex information, identify key issues and risks, develop practical solutions, and apply sound judgement to support effective decision making in a complex health service environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in, or the ability to rapidly acquire expertise in, the extraction, interpretation, and analysis of relevant health service planning data, including Ministry of Health activity projections, population projections, demographic data, and service activity data, to inform evidence based planning, decision making, and service development.
- Demonstrated experience working in a healthcare or related service delivery setting, with an understanding of the operational, governance, and stakeholder environments relevant to health service planning and development.
