The Opportunity
Hunter Prosthetics Orthotics Service (HPOS) is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Orthotist to join our team in Newcastle.
In this role, you’ll provide clinical assessment and orthotic services to inpatients, outpatients, and community clients. You’ll also support the clinical management of junior staff and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to plan and implement patient care.
Based at John Hunter Hospital, HPOS serves the Hunter and Northern NSW regions. Our team of 11 clinical, 3 technical, and 2 administrative staff is dedicated to enhancing patient mobility and quality of life. With on-site manufacturing, 3D scanning, and access to local 3D printing, we deliver innovative orthotic solutions. As a registered NDIS provider, we care for patients funded through EnableNSW, HNELHD, and other private and not-for-profit entities.

- Provide extensive detail of your orthotic clinical experience commensurate with the position description. Include details of any speciality work such as paediatric, CP, neuromuscular, scoliosis, high-risk conditions etc..
- HPOS prides itself on providing a local, on-site manufacturing service and the team have strong fabrication skills. Please detail your orthotic fabrication and manufacturing experience.
- Describe how your sound time-management and organisational skills allow you to prioritise tasks and manage a caseload of patients effectively ensuring maintenance of written communication with referrers, time for device manufacture and up-to-date patient records.
