About the Role


Concord Centre for Mental Health is committed to improving mental health for people and our communities by providing quality mental health services in partnership with consumers, families and service providers by providing quality healthcare, delivery of safe appropriate care, ensuring access to services, supporting our workforce, and working closely with the local community to manage the changing demand for services. 

The Hyperacute Occupational Therapy Team is based on the Intensive Psychiatric Care and High Dependency Units at Concord Centre for Mental Health. The provide  Occupational Therapy services to meet the needs of the hyperacute client population, with a focus on sensory interventions, therapeutic engagement in occupation, and proactive de-escalation.

The Occupational Therapist will provide senior clinical leadership within Occupational Therapy service provision including optimisation of patient/client care delivery, as well as supporting the mentoring and development of staff.   
 
The Hyperacute Therapy Team may work a rotating roster including day and evening shifts during the week and day shifts on weekends, but applicants who can only work Monday to Friday will be considered.

Ideal Candidate

 

  • Bachelor or post graduate degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy and current registration with AHPRA, with experience at Level 2 or higher.
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, skill and significant clinical experience in the provision of Occupational Therapy.
  • Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including collaborative stakeholder consultation and current NSW Driver’s Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
